Last week the Melbourne Silverlight Designer and Developer Network kicked off with their first meeting. I was invited to give a talk on the latest news in Silverlight land, and any announcements made at the PDC. The first meeting turned out as a great success, with 90 people showing up for this first meeting. I focused on three things in my talk:

  1. Silverlight Toolkit
  2. Silverlight Mesh-enabled Web Applications
  3. Business Application Framework for Silverlight 2

I got some good feedback, and people where specially excited about the business application framework. It will be interesting to follow this as Microsoft starts making more information available. For now Jamie Cool’s presentation from PDC is your best source.

I’m currently working on a blog post covering how I mesh-enabled the Dive Log application, and that should be available shortly.

My presentation from SDDN is now available online, and the recording turned out quite nice. We used Camtasia for screen recording, and Philip Beadle filmed the presenters using a nice HD camera. Jordan Knight then composed all together into a nice webcast format available on the SDDN site.

Big thanks to everyone who showed up, and to Jordan, Philip and Mashesh for organizing the meeting.
